Within the BEHOLDER Horizon Europe project, partner UIC, the International Union of Railways, recently reached out to relevant stakeholders at two major rail security events.
In November 2025, UIC presented the BEHOLDER project to European rail security experts and rail police authorities during the 80th General Assembly of COLPOFER, a UIC special group. The event gathered over 40 participants in Warsaw, Poland around the theme: “Railway security of the Eastern flank of the European Union.” The topic provided an ideal context to underline BEHOLDER’s contribution to strengthening resilience against CBRN-E threats, especially in regions exposed to heightened geopolitical challenges.
The project was also showcased at the 20th UIC World Security Congress, held in Rabat, Morocco in December 2025. This international event, held under the distinguished patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, brought together more than 200 participants from 30 countries, including representatives of railway operators, infrastructure managers, technology providers and public institutions. The Congress theme, “Tomorrow’s Railway Security: Combining People and Technology,” provided the perfect backdrop for presenting BEHOLDER’s innovative approach to enabling real-time detection, assessment and response to CBRN-E incidents.
By presenting at these high-level events, the BEHOLDER project continues to build strong connections with key stakeholders from the rail sector, ensuring its solutions are tailored to the specific challenges of railway security.
